Choosing a size

If you're new to plugs, start smaller than you think you need. Check the insertable length and, more importantly, the width at the widest point. A plug with a narrow neck above the base sits more comfortably once it's in. Several of our designs come in more than one size, so you can work up gradually.

Silicone or metal?

Silicone is soft, flexible and forgiving, which makes it the usual choice for beginners; pair it with water-based lube. Metal plugs, including our aluminium Toosh designs, are smooth, firmer and heavier. Metal also holds temperature, so you can warm a plug in a bowl of warm water or cool it in the fridge before play, and it's compatible with any type of lube.

Vibrating, tail and jewelled plugs

Vibrating and remote-controlled plugs add extra sensation, and some can be controlled by a partner; anal vibrators has more. Jewelled bases are purely decorative, but the flared shape beneath them is what keeps the plug safe. Furry Fantasy tail plugs are popular for costume and fetish play.
